Introduce myself
I asked myself actually who am i? Am I still the shy kindergartener that built royal castles out of sand and water, alone in the sandpit? Am I still the dissenting freshman in my undergrads who always wonder with friends at night over the streets under monochromatic lights? Am I still a confused senior expecting graduation without knowing anything?
All of a sudden I looked out the window and saw the city of Akron. Everything that came into my eyes was new to me, and I just stayed still without words. I was finally at a place so far away from home to live on my own. I came all the way across the Atlantic Ocean and part of the North American Continent to the small city of Akron in Ohio, USA. I did not come here for nothing. I came here for many reasons. A lot of things evoked my desire to study in Chemical Engineering.
Now I am studying in chemical engineering here at university of akron. Though I am doing research here whenever I have time I want to do fun staff with my friends. I enjoy going movies, playing games. I love playing badminton, tennis, table tennis and soccer. Off course I watch a lot of different games such as cricket, soccer, tennis etc.
Fortunately and unfortunately, I am single now. You may ask "What's wrong with you?", as to the reply, I would like to suggest you to ask the same question to those beautiful single girls.
I love my country Bangladesh than any other places in the world.

Biography
Time goes by so fast. When I was in elementary school it seemed like it would be forever until I would reach the twelfth grade. Well now here at University of Akron I am pursuing my PhD in chemical Engineering after graduating from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in October 2009. Along the way I have experienced, saw and learned from so many things. It’s given me a lot of time to think of what I want to do in the near future, and it all started when I was a kid.
I was born on September 8th, 1986 in Jamalpur, a district in Dhaka division in Bangladesh. I was raised there by my parents. I came from a family of 4 people. First two are my dad and mom, Majibar Rahman and Anjuman Ara Begum. The other one is my younger brother Koushik. My Dad was a renowned school teacher and my mother was a housewife. My father passed me away when I was 10.
A person needs to achieve certain goals in life before they can call themselves successful, and well I want to become successful. I have set certain goals I would like to achieve in my lifetime. Some of these goals are professional while others are personal. My professional goals in life are to get a good education, find a good job that makes me happy, and find a job that makes enough money for me to support my family, and my future family. I graduated from high school in 2002 with highest GPA in Jamalpur District as well as Dhaka board. After that I got admitted in the best college of the country, Notre Dame College. I passed Higher Secondary School Certificate exam from Notre Dame College with highest GPA as well. With all I’ve put into school I still was not sure what I wanted to be and I wish I did. There were some certain careers I was interested, but they all have pro’s and con’s to them. I didn’t want a low paying job or a boring one either. So I guess that eliminated a lot of my choices. I have thought about something in the engineering field Then I got admitted in Bangladesh university of Engineering and Technology in Chemical Engineering from where I graduated in 2009.

Undergraduate degree
i have successfully completed my undergraduate degree in chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in october 2009. My undergraduate thesis was "Decolorizaiton of textile
dye by treating with chlorine in a packed tower" supervised by Dr. A.K.M.A. Quader, Professor and former chair of Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET. i have visited quite a few chemical industries in Bangladesh including Global heavy Chemicals and Ghorashal Fertilizer Factory during my undergrads. i also had a training experiences in Jamuna Fertilizer Company Limited.
Doctoral Degree
now i am pursuing my doctoral degree at The University of Akron in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering since spring 2010. i am working under the supervision of Dr. Lu. Kwang Ju, Professor and Chair of the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. my research mainly focuses on Biochemical process development specially about fermentation technology, Enzyme Hydrolysis, Purification process. i am working here with my fellow researchers from different countries. i am hoping to be graduate in spring 2014.
